Very nice. Great to know you have a high learning curve. It will keep the low information crowd away. It is ok for you to have good feed back from the various critics. But I hope you and your small band of creative fellows continue in your own vision and quest. This game and following is the best in my humble opinion. I hope you will always draw exemplary talent to your headquarters. Keep up the good work and take us to the western theatre please.

We've never been there, so it will be very interesting to see what it's all about. Our publisher, Slitherine, has asked us to give a short presentation on our company and games. So Jim, Matt, and I are making the trek and will be there Thursday and Friday. There's no booth we'll be manning, maybe we'll wear our SOWGB hats so that we can meet folks that attend.

Our presentation went very well. We've gotten some great feedback on the game. Lots of writers asking questions, really a very nice group of guys. We're having a very good time.

SOWCV Wargamer Review E-mail

The Wargamer has taken their turn running SOWCV through it's paces. There were some items in there that more time with the game would have helped out with, but that's one of the things we need to work on, making the game friendlier to new players. There is so much packed in there, but unless you know where to look, it's hard to find. SOWCV Review

The team here is working hard to keep this type of historical recreation continuing. We just finished up a new demo that now includes Sandbox mode in Single Player and Multi Player. We want to give new people a chance to really experience the game. We've also removed all the old activation process from the demo. It's all on the same standard link, so if you know someone that would enjoy this type of game, make sure to have them check it out.

Next we're finishing up patches for all our games. We've added new features, fixed bugs, opened up MP modding, repaired maps, the list goes on. Look for that very soon.

Another Map Pack, oh yes! We just can't keep these guys down, everytime they get any down time they're coming up with new maps and new scenarios. So we'll have that to offer soon. Everyone loves new maps.

Then onto our next major project. No official name yet, but we are in the design stage and have been working hard researching the history. This gives us a chance to completely rewrite portions of the game, stuff we just cannot do in a patch.

Our team is growing. We've been very small for a long time, so we opened the doors to bring in new talent and new ideas. It's tough balancing all this in your free time, an infusion of new blood is a benefit to everyone. Everyone is coming in loaded with great ideas to make the game shine. Not sure when this one will be released, but it's going to be awesome!

Thanks. I've been trying to find time to ask about this map. I know John was working on it with you and, frankly, didn't want to seem insensitive about asking.

Sounds like there's some interesting stuff ahead from Norbsoft and the new draft of modders.

I can see Geoff's point, so I'll try to get this map finished before the summer. Real life permitting. It was something 2nd-TX and I were working on. It'll provide a terrain and (limited) building texture set for Spanish battles. Other map-makers can then do what they want with the resources.

We have a few certified map modders. They have a list of battles that are reserved for future NSD releases. Beyond that, they are free to make whatever map suits their fancy.

Thanks Norb,

Makes very attractive reading.

I note the promises of maps. That's the one thing I liked about TC2M ....... not many battles but what a lovely range of battlefield maps eventually emerged. But we were all allowed to do that in those days ..... shame not now.

I am noted for wanting SOW to be able to branch out into other time eras...... the Nap Mods are a good start but they really belong in a separate dedicated game. You can over-mod the basic game. The TC2M modders had the Horse and Musket, Rebels and Redcoats, Shiloh etc extensions broken out out into separate games.

I would now like to see developed some generic maps representing different parts of the world. Middle east desert, South African Veldt, Asian etc etc for which the existing maps, good as they are, cannot substitute. This might have a knock on effect of encouraging sprite modders and creaters to put up some OOB's to match the scenery.

Since Norbsoft seems not interested in leaving their Civil War niche, such maps would not present a threat to future expansion. You might even let someone else do them ?
