I'm having no luck editing. I'm possibly dumb, but the GEdit program doesn't seem very intuitive to me. I save my changes to specific units in a given OOB {OOB SB Gettysburg day 1 for example} and when I go back to play using that OOB no changes seem to have been made. Is my condition curable ?

You need to copy the OOB file into the correct folder in the Mods directory and then enable the mod. You will not be able to change the supplied scenarios but if you download the Historical Scenarios Mod you can have your changes show up their if you add your modified OOB into that mod.

OK, now that that's taken care of... I am not getting what I want from the rifles file. I saw what I needed to do with the OOBs but the rifle aspect is still eluding me. Is there a rifle file in the mods? I'm only working with the NDS mod.

Are you trying to change which weapon is assigned to which regiment or are you trying to change the characteristics of an individual weapon?

Also you may want to download the SDK which has much useful info about creating mods. Here is the direct link to the download: SDK download
