Cleaburn - How is everything going!

There is only a very small group of Modders that have the ability to add of change the uniforms in the game.

The only ones that come to mind are , "Tim", "Bedbug", "Pom" and "Gunship" sorry if I missed anyone else.

Basically to do it by hand is extremely time consuming, which is probably why no one attempts it.

Something as simple as changing the color of a hat requires at least 800 too 1000 edits. It is that many sprites that have to be changed.

The names listed above use a (Special - type - of - Program) to do most of the editing when creating a uniform, but each uniform still requires them to spend quite a bit of time setting things up.

Hand editing is just not the best or the fastest way of changing the uniforms.

Hi Cleaburn.

Here's a taster of some of the new sprites I'm doing for mods by Martin James and Crikey. These mods will also include new maps by Crikey and Mart.T. And as we discussed I hope to do some of the units on your wish list.

Thanks to all for the kind words, and yes Zeke I am using Crikey's USCT mod as a base for the new sprites.

Crikey will be doing an improved Olustee map soon to go with them. The map in the screens is Mark.T's new Gettysburg map.

Here's a few more screens, artillery and Union cavalry.

you really have a awesome ability Pom it is in my view art, When you have time look at Don Troiani work on uniforms of various regiments in the civil war great resource,I would suggest a dark grey unit and a blend of greys at some point anyway awesome work looking forward to the new releases Here is troianis site www.dontroiani.com/gallery.shtml

Thanks Cleaburn. Crikey and Martin have both mentioned Troianis, it would be nice if I could come close to the look of his art. has real life in it.

The new uniforms, together with the new maps, will be game changers.

And it's not just the uniforms, and the cute goatees.

It's the horses!

They finally look real!

Really looking forward to this.

Thanks in advance

Thank you rudy. The horses were something I put off doing for a long time.

As for the paleness....based on the shade I'd go if going into battle.

"Pom" - Great New Addition to the Confederates Uniforms.

As mentioned by "Cleaburn" - Now that you have the Program in Place for creating uniforms, how much trouble is it to take one of the above uniforms and change the hat and blanket around.

This is a rough crop of your above picture, changing the hat and Blanket of the unit on the extreme right.

Another uniform that looks different from the other even with the same clothes.

Either Way - great Job!

Thank you all again.

Davinci.. I can certainly add another sprite into the mix. Would take about half a day. I'll add it in for the final version.

No, a "Half of a Day" is a bit too much to ask for....."Didn't really know how much time it took"

I'll be happy with the existing ones that You have already made!

But, Thanks Anyway!

These new units will go quite well with "MarkT" new Gettysburg Map!

It's takes minutes to change the textures and hat, then change out the different animations, but the bulk of the time is spent waiting for the sprites to be rendered. I normally catch up on some reading or TV.
I'm writing this whilst rendering the second of the "grey" infantry.

So it won't be a problem.
