Is it possible for two or three players to play against the AI, in MP? I think the term is Co-Op. I believe I read on one of the posts, after the game's initial release, that they had played a Co-Op game. But I can't find it now.

Hey Ephrum ,

I think all you would have to do is after the Host selects a Battle, all players would select a Commander on the same side.

1 - Union

2 - Confederate

Chamberlain

Yes. The lads and I play co-op against the AI all the time. Great fun.

The MP is just like single player in that the AI will control any player that is not controlled by a human player. So it's easy to just all join the same side as mentioned.
