  • Version 2.0 Update, April 2nd, 2020
    - Addresses issues with the unitpack.csv file that shows the 'firing sprites' during their 'withdraw' and 'advance' engagement sequences.

Unzip and copy to the Mods folder (Unzips with 7zip , free download...)
    TC2M SOW Infantry Mod
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

All 12 TC2M infantry sprites are included with this mod and are 4K texture packed along with all SOW infantry sprites, the result being little to no performance loss despite the addition of twelve new uniforms.

Five Union along with seven Confederate infantry sprites are included, examples can be seen in the sandbox 'OOB_SB_TC2M_Inf_Examples' -- CSA side, Hays brigade, all seven regiments display each sprite...USA side, Meredith's brigade displays the five Union additions.

The Unitglobal.csvfile includes listings for all the infantry uniforms so when enabled any scenario or sandbox played will include all infantry sprites organized according to the OOBs. The Unitglobal file also includes descriptions of the uniforms and instructions on how to mix and match your own preferences.

Death sprites have been enhanced for all units but not as pronounced as the mod BloodBath, hence, a mere Bloodfest. BloodBath (version V) has been upgraded and will show all it's morbid glory when prioritized below this mod in the Modifications screen.

    Please delete the test version:
    TC2M Sprite Additions
It WILL cause issues with this and other mods

This mod is compatible with ' True Ground SR1 ' battles when activating the included 'TC2M SOW Infantry SR1' mod.

  • Hey Reb,

Re-downloaded to test out and it downloaded fine.

    Mrscotland,

Can you 'save' the file to your desktop ?
It works fine as I use WINRAR and it does show the file downloading and when it is done, it says "Download has completed".

  • Mr Scotland...it may be that you need to wait a bit longer. I use Firefox and when downloading from NSD it never shows a progress bar as such. Just shows it is still in downloading mode. I just leave it until I'm certain the rar is all downloaded.

    Hope that helps.

    Much Appreciated!

Presently I'm on an 'improved performance' quest with 8K packed modules, cavalry, artillery, etc., to be released in the coming months, so, no time for scenario design. Besides, there are plenty of scenario mods available already to try out this mod's new look. Check out the scenarios in B&F for example, with this mod enabled, the infantry will already be set up with the new TC2M SOW look.

  • hey reb...I believe you already posted that you don't have/use Win 8, but after quite a bit of testing on my own (and feedback from other Win 8 users) B&F seems to be the main MOD that doesn't work with Win 8...which is a shame, because it's my favorite of all of them...any way to make future MODS Win 8 friendly?

I hope you are referring to MP play and not SP, I have heard of NO issues between B&F and Win8 with SP play.

I have no plans to buy a Win8 machine or OS to try and make things compatible. The Win8 OS was built for tablets, lets hope that Win9 will be more robust for PC rigs like Win7. Hopefully then folks will be given an inexpensive upgrade option from Win8 to 9. IOW, Begone Win8!

  • yes, MP (solo seems fine)...i'm not a fan of Win 8 either, but it's here and not going away...any guess why MP has issues, and SP not?

The only thing I can think of is texture sheet size as B&F is up to 4K sizes. If you want, try this mod out in MP play to test this idea, since this mod is a 4K release also.

If this mod plays MP successfully, then I have no other ideas.

  • by "this mod" do you mean the TC2M SOW Infantry"? if so, we used it last night with no problems...BUT, i'm not sure we used it correctly? all we did was both install and turn it on, with 3 other MODS, and everything worked fine...(is this MOD simply a mod to use in any scenario, custom or SOW? it doesn't seem to be stand-alone at all, so that's how we used it and again, worked fine)

  • Yes, this mod. If you saw the TC2M sprites then I'm assuming it worked correctly. To be clear, this mod is an infantry enhancer, giving the player more choices of infantry selections. Play around with editing the unitglobal file (in this mod's Logistics folder), you'll see if you figure it out. Once edited to your liking, send you MP group the unitglobal file for them to replace/copy over their's, then you'll all see the same variances that you chose while playing together in MP play.

  • Hey Bloody Bill ,

Excellent job on the video ! :) :)

The fighting going on and the Gettysburg Address being said was really cool !

And when I heard the music in the background, from the Gettysburg movie, that was awesome, as this music still gives me chills every time I hear it !!!

Great job in showing RebBugler's sprites and I see you are also using his BloodBath Mod, which is a must have !! :cheer:

The carnage after the fight looks good too !

    Once again, excellent job !

    Much appreciated!

Downloaded the greatcoats, they're now on my to-do list. Gonna be a while though, other priorities await. The greatcoats will be great for the winter battles. Maybe I can de-saturate them for a Rebel version also, time and testing will tell.

  • Update: 22 May 2017
    - Adjusted the infantry firing sequence and animation speeds so the 'firing sprite' now appears in Advance and Withdraw engagement sequences.

Started thinking about this mod a couple of days ago and remembered it didn't have the 'firing sprite' upgrade, a must for immersion once you know it's not happening, at least for me.

For folks that want a feel of the TC2M days, twice the variety of sprites, and a touch of BloodBath, this mods for you.

One more thing, I had mistakenly left some png files in the original download, bloating it unnecessarily. So, a much leaner download now.

  • Reb - Great Job, on keeping the camp-fire burning.

Did you ever verify that the unit from "Pom" was included in your Mod, I was thinking that his sprites were posted after you completed your Mod.

You know the sprite that "Cleaburn" was looking for?

Checked out the Rag Tag screenshots, and no, I don't have or know how to get those sprites. Guess it's up to your HDD search or if the author re-posts them. Regardless, thanks for helping out.

As much as I would like to comply, I can't. The Tigers sprite was a bonus for purchasing the 150th Anniversary Edition released by Matrix, and being a member of the NSD team releasing such features is strictly forbidden.
