Re: How is the performance, compared to SoW: Gettysburg?
<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>I have not read through all this thread, just a glimpse here and there. But I will be the first to admit that we need to update the graphics engine. There's no doubt and no question and you'll get no argument from us. The reason we have not is that it would add 1-2 years to t...

Re: How is the performance, compared to SoW: Gettysburg?
<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>You didn't answer the question. What is your FPS exactly? Subjective phrases like "slideshow" and "powerpoint presentation" are not useful. People can't help you unless we begin to deal in specifics.<e>
</e></QUOTE> The Tutorial-scenario peaks at the early twenties. It...

Re: How is the performance, compared to SoW: Gettysburg?
<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>I guess there are people that only rate a game on FPS.<e>
</e></QUOTE> What a genuinely shocking thing to say. (I would use a stronger word, here, but y'know - minding my language.)<br/> <br/> I have no understanding for someone who can see a game chug along at 5 FPS a...

Re: How is the performance, compared to SoW: Gettysburg?
<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>You're telling me that that Gettysburg ran badly on the above PC? really. I'm surprised as the PC is better than mine and I had no problems running gettysburg.<e>
</e></QUOTE> No, I had a different PC at the time. But it was about as powerful by the standards of the ti...

Re: Question from potential buyer.........
Buying Sow: Waterloo to "replace" NTW, is like buying ArmA 3 to "replace" Call of Duty. You've misunderstood some extremely basic shit about both games.

How is the performance, compared to SoW: Gettysburg?
<r>Long story short; SoW Gettysburg ran horribly on my then very powerful computer, even in tiny, brigade-sized scenarios. Then an expansion was released, (<I><s></s>Chancellorsville<e></e></I>, perhaps?), where the performance was improved to a ridiculous degree. I mean to recall the reason ...

And this is where you completely disqualified yourself from being taken seriously in any discussion on the matter. From my testing even 7 FPS is acceptable,

Re: Do you ever plan to update pre-Chancellorsville releases with the infinitely better optimized new environment details?
<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>I think part of it has to do with the fact that chancellorsville has much fewer vegetation sprites per area, and the grayscale BMP that decides where to put them is 1/4 the scale of those on the gettysburg or antietam maps. Using this BMP scale, stone walls have to be thinner...

Re: Do you ever plan to update pre-Chancellorsville releases with the infinitely better optimized new environment details?
Nope.Gettyburg was updated previous to the release of Chancellorsville. If you are using the 1.61 version of the game you should see the same speed improvement.
