Scourge of War Boards

How do you take any of the objectives? I can't even capture devils den even if there are no ifantry on it, the artillery battery there routs you every time you get men near it.

Thanks, I knew there must be a way to do this I just couldn't figure out how, being able to move artillery forward should make things a lot easier!
