Re:Possible to advance a line..staying in line... farther than 100 yards?
<r>Well, that was easy! I just changed the Walk Formation of the infantry uniforms/units in the unitglobal from column to line, and it worked. That seemed easier than making a whole new unit. This way, all units move in line no matter how far...but of course they stay in line no matter what formatio...

Excellent! I'll try that, davinci. Even if it doesn't work, it's worth the effort to me. Even with failure, I learn about the different facets of this system.

Re:Possible to advance a line..staying in line... farther than 100 yards?
<t>Good idea, davinci, I'll give that a shot. I hadn't thought of that, but sounds damn clever to me. Keep Foprm changes are scenario-specific, too, as far as I can tell, since you need to give the command in the battlescript. That's why I went the toolbar commands route. You can change the distance...

Thanks fellas.
I'll re-try the Keepform values...no apparent luck the first time.

Possible to advance a line..staying in line... farther than 100 yards?
<t>Hi Norb, Adukes, Little Powell (and all you modders out there)!<br/> <br/> I'm trying to set up a scenario with an assault over relatively open ground with the regiments and brigades moving in a battleline over sa long distance, but can't do it as the game is set up, apparently. It appears that w...

Re:What do these commmands do?
Thanks ADukes, but I don't quite understand that command.
"line_fight" units can fight in other formations, but not while they're in line?

What do these commmands do?
<t>Howdy Fellers,<br/> <br/> Still working on my first scenario. What do the following commands do? They're not really covered in the manual.<br/> <br/> stay (Like Hold, only not at an Objective?)<br/> <br/> attack (versus attackmarch)?<br/> <br/> And how about the formation linefight (how is it dif...

Re:Random Events/event.csv file question, and Alpha-Omega setting problem.
Yes it does, LP. Thanks.
P.S. I had a space between Alpha and Omega. Duh! Funny thing is, I managed to reset the whole Union and Confederate set up (from Barksdale's attack on the Peach Orchard scenario) even with the A/O not activated!

Re:Random Events/event.csv file question, and Alpha-Omega setting problem.
<t>Thanks for the quick answer, A.P.<br/> <br/> So, I just make up the random events, but using the commands from the game. Sounds good. I was thinking that somewhere in the game there was a list of them...like, "a shrapnel round explodes in the middle of a Farmer Rose's beehives; the closet regimen...
