<t>If SOW wants to attract high-paying customers, it needs to be the latest in graphics, programming, etc. That means 64 bit system, 3D sprites, revamped code to try to run the engine faster, etc. The cutting edge is always behind by the time you produce, and people pay for graphics (unfortunately f...

Re: Chancellorsville Road Errors

<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>Silly me I pay $30 for the game that has a large number of bugs and ask for a patch. Re: Energy Dissipation Of A Sphere Passing Through a Medium

<r>You logic seems completely correct. Yes, I do seem to have forgotten to take static friction into account. Such are the problems of a high school senior who can only draw upon his current physics class to help him. Out of curiosity, may I further ask where the rotational energy goes?<br/> <br/> A...

Re: Energy Dissipation Of A Sphere Passing Through a Medium

<r>MTG: You are damn good at twisting my words around or my style of communication must be more confusing than jibberish.<br/> <br/> The rotational kinetic energy affects the friction, not the initial momentum. At this point, my limited knowledge of physics dissipates (pun intended), and I will proc...

Re: Energy Dissipation Of A Sphere Passing Through a Medium

<t>Simply that rotational kinetic energy recieved at the time of firing still needs to be dissappated before the projectile will truely be stopped (the previous solutions only account for translational kinetic energy). This rotational energy results in greater penetrating power, as evidence by the d...

Re: Question for NSD - rivers

<r><QUOTE><s>
</s>That's part of the map design and it more than likely falls on my shoulders. The areas where no troops would ever march are supposed to be surrounded by an impassible border for the troops to follow. I'm guessing that it's not used on these maps.<e>
</e></QUOTE> So the...

Re: slight MP lobby problem

<t>You may want to unable all the GCM Mods that are likely still enabled. Then you can head on over to the multiplayer screen and at the top right corner, your name with GCM Version # will be displayed in a box. Click on that name and hit backspace until you have achieved the username you prefer.</t>

Re: Energy Dissipation Of A Sphere Passing Through a Medium

Air drag / wind resistance would be the answer you are looking for born2see.

In addition, the solution to the original problem may need to account for rotational energy of the projectile, depending upon whether it is a smoothbore or rifled cannon.

<r>The next release I believe is the cavalry battle of Brandy Station (maybe even with the other cavalry skirmishes as a bonus).<br/> <br/> When the team does do a campaign, I hope they do a fantastic job of it. I myself would look forward to a condensed time (aka real time at speed, not turn or ste...
