OK, just woke up dreading looking in here, but it's not too bad. I should have held off for a couple more days of testing, but we're at the point where it all looks the same for us.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I would really love to fix a few of these and re-release. But history says that this demo is going to spread across the net and then people would get confused. So it might be best to just patch in a little. We'll have to see how bad these bugs are.

I have plenty of time to work through these starting next week, so we'll get the worst of them knocked out soon. First we need to get the store up. That also will be in the next couple of days.

I don't want to officially announce until all of this is done, so I'm not doing any press or news items until it's all good. This was like a pre-release :)
Woot. I just hate that I have to practice by killing Southerners. It is so traitorous. Damn you Yankees for making me kill my people. :)

edit: My observation from two rounds of tutorial last night. One can learn quickly. I'm completely new to this kind of game. Did't play your previous game. I'm more of the turn based type of gamer or simulation gamer. Had to get this game though being a student of the Civil War. The one niggle I observed, which was probably my fault, but the screen locked up once after I tried to do too many things at once. I kept pressing buttons and eventually all the buttons I pressed came up on the Confederate target thing at the top left corner. Game/screen unlocked after a bit though. I backspaced all the letters I pressed.

Don't worry, soon you'll have plenty of chances to take out as many blue bellies as you want.

Someone won!?!?!?
How did you do that the enemy got alteat 2000 more troops, I just got overrun and then I died.

Positive+
Big units,
lovley terrain I spent half the battle just looking at the prestine farm land.
Volley fire, atleast I think it was volley I was busy shooting at a unit of rebs but it didn't retrun fire, then suddenly the rebs disapeard in a big cloud of smoke and my regiment ran for their life.
deep currier system

Negative-
Preformance problems, I get ALOT of lag even with this modest battle, some times the game even stops, I thought it had crashed but after a good 20 sec its started again.
path finding problems
VERY LONG loadtime, the load time might be fine for a 2-3 hour game, but for a battle that only last half an hour it's a bit long

Try turning down your setting Gunfreak. There area lot of them to tweak with, it should help with the studdering.

Yep, i drove Archer from the field, then I took on Davis`s brigade and flanked him, then drove each of his regiments back one at a time from that flank, and put them into a route.

I`m running it with the default settings, i never changed a thing. I`m going to tweak it a little at a time to see what she will do.

For the Units graphics, I changed the defalt setting to "Best" and what a difference in the Uniforms...

I did notice a slow down and temporary freeze at one point, but it could be related to only have 2 GIG of RAM on my machine. I just finished ordering 2 more GIG from Crucial with a 2 Business Day delivery, should be here Tuesday !! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Other than this, the game flowed smoothly, loved the terrain with the walls, fences & buildings. I also just flew over the Battlefield to get look at it, and what a look - Incredible job guys !!! :)

Also loved the size of the units. :)

The one thing I noticed, when using the plus key to speed up 9with no action), like in TC2M, But here when my Boys reached the enemy, the speed stayed the same. In TC2M, when you came in contact with the enemy, the speed went back to normal. Here when I met the enemy, I had to use the minus key to get back to normal speed.

Bottom line, this is a tremendous job put together by a very, very talented group !!!

Thanks guys !!

Hello,

I'm glad to play again at a neaw civil war game.

I'm a little bit disappointed, I have no fireearms sound and i really hate the "ploc" sound when we put a flag in location.
The sound environnment is very poor.
They are also no archive/reenactment video to make the environnment more ludic.
Ohhh, i m really sad that i didn't enjoy to play this game.

I prefered Take Manassas... :(

I have some lag too. I turned down the settings, but with the same problem. The biggest thing I noticed is the camera changes. I'm a nit-picker when I play, so i change the camera a few angles every couple of seconds just so I can get a better view. But with the lag, a small adjustment brings me staring up in the sky or right down into the ground. I go back and forth between sky and ground.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

Yeah you'll want to play around with the camera settings. The default settings are pretty slow. I currently have all 4 Camera settings at 70 which is really fast, but to me is easier to manage the battle that way.

Everyone will have their own personal preference, so again just tweak the numbers until you find what works best for you. I also prefer to have "Camera Stay w/OOB Nav" so the camera doesn't jump around when navigating through your commanders.
