Beta Patch

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

The patch should install right over your current game and you should lose none of your progress. You should also be able to go right back to the original game if you want.

I try to make these releases as seemless as possible and if they are not, please let me know and I will fix it.

Norb ,

Do you need a Saved Game - when units will surrender, even if they have a clear path back to their lines.

I have noticed that my units, and the enemy units have surrendered usually after a melee while they are running towards their line, but suddenly stop and give-up!

Is this in the code - does the code check for all available paths back to friendly units?

Thanks,

davinci

It isn't necessarily a path to friendly units issue. More often then not it's more of a morale issue. If the melee results in a rout, more often then not they will surrender, especially if they are greatly outnumbered.
War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it. The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over.

OK, Thanks, Shirkon - I was looking at the problem from the wrong angle, instead of paying attention to the morale aspect , I was wondering why they wouldn't seek the safety of their lines.

I think that I can adjust this in the SDK to solve my problem!

I believe that it's a combination of factors and a die roll. That's the problem of debugging this code, it's all so random with weights towards certain behaviors.

Hi,

Just to mention that I have now had crashes with the patch.

Sadly I have no saved game as Autosave was not setup; it is now for every five minutes. In both cases there was a lot of very close quarter wheeling and such going on.

All the best,
Kip.

Hi.

I have to pass on the beta patch. I didn't know it was so big (9-10 hours download time).

I'll wait for the final release patch.

Haaa...curse the dialup.
