Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
Thanks, I guess writing is still the easy part. When it comes to speaking, my active vocabulary declines really fast if I can't use the language on a regular basis.
Currently I'm struggling with Thai and the Japanese writing system (besides studying and trying to beat Norb's devious AI)... that's really frustrating and annoying but I am enjoying it big time  .

Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
How does a German come to know Major Wheat? What a stud he was. Where in Germany are you? I've lived in Bonn and near Bitburg/Prüm.
I finally won this scenario as well. I had many a crash towards the end though... so it took longer than it should.
Robert Rodes is rated too low, I think. He was an excellent brigade commander and division commander. He only performed poorly at Gettysburg because he was seriously sick on July 1 and July 2. His leadership wasn't a completed disaster either. His moderate ratings just don't match the historical record, imho.
Do you guys normally wait for all four divisions to come on or do you attack early with one or two divisions?
... and I have yet to see Anderson's division move, although I saw some movement in my last game towards the end once I had the scenario wrapped up.

Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
Every time you play "Jackson" it will be different. There is literally an infinte amount of random events that can occur, but Anderson is not one of them. This is about Jackson's corps after all... But when the SDK comes out....? you can easily modify that one.

Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
Hi Folks
I started this Scenario last night and only had Jackson and Early coming down the Harrisburg Rd. (actually Jackson was facing off the map). When I went to the map it showed the full Union side. A short while later it showed the Union side mostly with ?s. Ie its display setting seems to have changed while in the game.
Options - "Map Icons desplay icons is: All in sight".
The game CTDed about 10 - 15 minutes in.
When I started it up again. Early was still coming down the Harrisburg Rd but this time Jackson was located with another group of units (Colston?) coming down the Newville Rd (I think thats the name). Plus the FOW was lifted from the Map (as per my unchanged Option settings).
I started this scanario again to night with auto save on and the initial problem from last night is back.
So can anyone tell me if this is a bug?
I have the autosaved file for uplaoding.
I can post screen shots of my option settings and of the 2d map if thats OK for the board?

Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
I played Jackson in the Sandbox yesterday. First attempt CTD about 10 minutes into the game. Restarted the game, played exactly the same settings, and it worked fine. I guess I have learned through 6 decades + that Murphy's Law prevails in 99.9% of all of life's situations and have become used to it. The only exception is when I don't understand "computerese!" Am looking forward to the future mods with great trepidation and hopeful that the kind administrators and staff will provide "Dunderhead Steps 101" to help their downloading.

You just underscored why eliminating all crashes and bugs with the first release was next to impossible. We only had 3-5 testers, now we have hundreds with you guys. With the myriad of OS's, video cards, sound cards, and other computer specs., the mission to debug is hugh, but by no means impossible.I played Jackson in the Sandbox yesterday. Hey Dukes
I was wondering if all issues mentioned were bugs.
- The CTD obviously.
- The Map icons display setting seem to be changing dynamically in game - I could be wrong so will test again.
- The random start location of Jackson I guess is a scenario design but he does start off facing off map when he is located at Harrisburg - a very small thing I know.
Cheers

Re:Jackson's II Corps Scenario
The largest issue I see with this scenario is that the Jackson sprite has 2 arms!
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.
