Bugles and Flags version 03 - 04 August 3rd Upgrade

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Version 04 replaces all.

Folks, my apologies, had a bad division (Inf4) line formation in v04. The fix was uploaded about 2 hours ago. Easier to just DL v04 again rather than make fixed files available or to explain how to fix. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey Reb, hows it going?

Little Powell, do you think we should give Reb a Mulligan? :)

Thats okay Reb, even the best people can make mistakes.

Besides, even with mistakes, your mods are great! :side:

Just finished the Round Top scenario from the Union perspective, and hearing the rebel yell sent chills down my spine. I was sweating bullets by the time it was over. Major props for adding this to the game!

Also, is there any way to add the rebel yell ambient to the game itself, instead of only on the Round Top scenario?

Hi Damned Black Hat.

I still experience the WOW factor when I see the amount of men lined up before the carnage begins, this game is simply incredible.

This game is absolutely the best buy around.

Cheers...

Good plug for the Rebel Yell. Yeah, I find myself using it often from the toolbar, I would swear the butternuts do better with their beastly mantras, it would be neat if I could get a couple of Yanks to bolt upon Yell initiation. :woohoo: I find it really intimidating to hit individual regiments, spaced at 5 second or so intervals, throw in one bugle call along the way, and they all build to a deafening climax along with the clash of troops. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

However, it's unfair. You Yanks need to find a good Yell so I can include it also. Gotta keep you Yanks happy, you're very important to our cause...cause without you guys, we'd just be Rebels without one...please excuse the worn out cliche. :P

Regarding Yells within the stock game, they could be included in future expansions if certain conditions are met, permission protocol (got this Yell from the above link) and demand from the forum.

"As the folks on this site know quite well, I am essentially computer illiterate (for example, still trying to figure out why the v.4 of Flags won't work for me)"

Hey Kerflumoxed,

Saw your post in another thread...what is going on? This 04 version is basically the same, installs the same, and has no added changes from the fundamental setup. Make sure you delete or move the older versions out of the mod folder. And double check that the yellow box shows in the Modifications screen and the 'enable selected mod' is clicked.

Also, up front, make sure the DL file is unzipped (extracted) and you see the read me file. Then copy/paste the folder Bugles and Flags v04(other icon) inside the mod folder.

I don't know of any recordings of the Yankee Hurrah, but the TC2M sound mods had an excellent yell for the Union. I've attached the one that I feel works best, with the bugle call and all. I'd love to put together a sound mod, but I need to do my homework on how to do it properly. I'd also have to find a program that allows me to edit WAV files. Do you think you could help with either of these?

Also, thanks for the hard work you put into this mod, it takes the game to an entirely new level.

EDIT: Seems I can't attach the sound file. I could always shoot you an e-mail if that's ok.

Damned Black Hat

I use Wavepad, it's free with limited features, really all I need for now...works great for what I've required so far.

http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html

You can send that file to: prkeen at drumsandbugles dot com
...I'll check out your preference.

Still would prefer something historically valid, but this could be a good start...Thanks for your interest and help in this quest.

RebBugler.

I was wondering, since you have TC2M mods listed on your site, is there a mod manager for TC2M?

It kind of eats up the HD space when having (up too) 4 modded versions.

Just wondering, and again Reb, your mods work great, and are simply incredible.

Cheers...
