This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.
Got it. Had a couple of CTDs before I caught it. The 09 uniform line is a CSA uniform code. You have to do all the changes we talked about PLUS edit the 09 line from CSA to USA. Then it will work. I now have no Damn Yankees in shirtsleeves. They are all in jackets, as is proper decorum for the 1860s.
Since what we call shirts today were considered underwear back then. Being outside without your jacket,(re: blouse), or vest, was considered a major social faux pax, unless you were on a working party. Realistically, most Rebs would have their jackets on also, even if it was badly ripped or otherwise damaged. This was also without regard to the heat. A.P. Hills Red Battleshirt was a major exception to this rule, for obvious reasons.
Thanks for the help.

OK, I'm using Excel so all I have to do is drag the mouse over the selected columns and use the Copy and Paste feature.
You are doing it by hand - so this would cause you several different problems that I'm not explaining correctly.
Yes the USA 09 graphic is using the same uniform as that for the CSA 06 - this line of code is a very good way of using two uniforms for the price of one.
Norb - seems to have thought of everything when it comes to modding this game.
But, it's good that you stuck with this and figured this out, modding is having the ability to continue to crash the game, but to never give up!

Roger that. Also, after running a brigade game as a test, went back and changed the 09 uniform line to run the 08 uniform. Needed some more veteran-looking troops in the ranks. This IS supposed to be 1863. Federal troops were vets by this time and many of their uniforms were decidedly un-regulation by then. BTW, someone posted he was darkening the federal jackets to show fading? Do your blue jeans get darker as they age? I reenacted for almost 20 years. One of my sons now wears my very first Federal sack coat. It is much lighter now than when I bought it. Odd someone would think that. Once more into the breach...

Jack – I always come to the opposite conclusion as everyone else, I would think that after a uniform has been acquired and worn without upgrading it, that it would become darker worn, dirty.
So, I took one of the default uniforms and made it that way, to give a different look to the blue uniforms worn by some of the confederates.
Hey , Jumping Topic!
Can you tell me how do you put a Picture – in the user profile , I can’t seem to figure that out!
Thanks,

You are right to a point. Jackets would get darker with dirt, sweat stains, etc. However, the actual exposed color would lighten up in the sun. Also, salt from sweat would stain areas of the jacket white, sort of acting like a bleaching agent. Figure that out as a color scheme...
As far as a picture goes, I assume you've gone to your profiles section. Click on my avatar. Look over the avatars shown. If you like one there, click on the little circle next to it and then go down and click submit. If you are trying to load an actual picture, I'm not your man there.
