MP Mods no longer work?

Post by Garnier »

I know in a previous version, in June, that you could mod the Logistics files from the SDK, put them in a Work\Logistics folder and they would work in MP.

I was just testing it now before my activation got messed up, and it wasn't working. Has this been disabled in 1.03? If so.. can it be re-enabled or some other method for MP logistics mods enabled?

Modded data files do and did not work in MP.

Yes, it was a premature inclusion (MP issues still being addressed) and was disabled in a patch that same month. Norb has future plans to phase in MP mods. Now that MP play has become increasingly stable, it shouldn't be long.

ADukes they did work when we tested back in June.

A bummer that it was disabled. I suppose it won't do any good to complain, but anyway the MP community is eager for the day when it's re-enabled.

It was a backdoor mistake that caused many other issues that allowed them to work and that issue had to be fixed. Once it was fixed, the backdoor was closed. It's not that we went out to break them, they never should have been enabled in the first place.

I am going to try and find a way to enable mods and categorize mods so that people can play with what mods they want to if they do not affect game play. But this is going to take some work to think through.
