Great Addons for those who Fly FS9, and FSX...These you don't want to miss.

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Here is the list of Addon's for Flight Sims..believe me these are something that any person who uses FS9, and FSX cannot go without for any reason. The rating system is my personal opinion only. Scale is from 1 to 10. Note: I have flown all of these because I am a FS9 / FSX junky (so far my total hours in the air comes to a close total of 1165 hrs). By far my favorites are AirHauler, and Fspassengers (for both FS9, and FSX)

1: AirHauler for FS9 or FSX Addon.
Description: AirHauler lets you create and run a virtual air freight company. You can open bases around the world, build up your fleet of aircraft, and fly cargo for customers in Microsoft Flight Sim - AirHauler monitors your flight and records fuel purchases, landing fees, repairs to aircraft and that all important income from shipping cargo around the world! AirHauler works with both Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 and Flight Sim X, and with 32 and 64 bit versions of WindowsXP and Vista. RATING: 9.8 out of 10

2: FsPassengers for FSX or FS9 Addon. 9.0
Description: Add passengers to your flights! Finally, you're not alone in the sky. Passengers react to how you fly your plane. Hear them scream if you make drastic mistakes, and get their opinion of your flight in real time. Provide in-flight passenger services such as movies, music, and drinks. Make money for successful flights; be fined if you do something wrong. Manage an airline (make money, manage aircraft fleets, etc). Maintain your aircraft in good condition, otherwise you may experience unique and suprising failures. Create and maintain pilot careers. Keep detailed logs and statistics for every flight you make (great for virtual airlines). Fly through dangerous parts of the world, and risk the safety of your plane, crew, or passengers! Export your flight to your Virtual Airline. This add-on includes more than 200 in-flight sounds to immerse you in the ambiance of flight. Hear feedback from your co-pilot, flight attendants, passengers; listen to ATC chatter, music, GPWS, and more. All screens and reports work in full screen. No need to quit FS. RATING: 9.0 out of 10

3: Just Flight - Traffic 2005 FS9 Addon
Description: Traffic 2005 is an open program which you can customise in various ways. The files and information on this site will enable you to add new aircraft, repaint the aircraft supplied with Traffic 2005, download new liveries for them, add new routes, and add new airport layouts for third-party sceneries or improve the existing ones. Here you'll find all kinds of files to download to make your FS world even more realistic. You can also upload your files here to share them with others users. RATING: 7.0 out of 10

4: Just Flight - Airliner pilot FS9 Addon.
Description: Have you ever wanted to fly for a major airline? Fancy travelling the world, being responsible for millions of pounds worth of aircraft and for the safety and comfort of hundreds of passengers? Wouldn't it be great if you could do it in Flight Simulator 2004? Now you can. Airliner Pilot is a unique piece of software that puts you into control of an airliner in your own fictional airline. Here you can download files from other users that will expand your Airliner Pilot experience even further, and also upload your own files for others to enjoy. RATING: 3.8 out of 10 (very high learning curve especially without a good manual).

5: Radar Contact
Description: Radar Contact is the most complete Air Traffic Control (ATC) add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Previous versions of Radar Contact (RC) were based on adventures, which provided a realistic ATC environment. With the introduction of FS2002, adventures were no longer a viable option for RC. Beginning January 2001, we rewrote RC in Visual Basic. Version 3 was released in November 2002. Two years ago, we released Version 3.1 which supported Fs2004, and started working on Version 4. We believe that Radar Contact Version 4 will take Air Traffic Control to the next level. By implementing current 7110.65 FAA Rules, with more in-depth implementation of real world procedures, and many of the ICAO rules, Radar Contact puts you in the left seat where you will fly under today's current ATC jurisdiction. RATING: 6.8 out of 10 (bland addon)

6: Cargo Pilot for FS9
Description: Now you can live the life of a hard pressed Cargo Pilot flying your way through your career in the world of Air Cargo from flying pigs from Jungle strips in the Caravan to Racing cars around the World in the 747, but Big Brother will be watching you! You will need to fly and operate your flying in a safe and on-time fashion to ensure that you progress upwards and onwards - fail to do that and a life of being stuck in the jungle awaits you. If you succeed however, the major cargo hubs in the world will be yours! RATING: 2.5 out of 10

7: Peter Dowson's FS Modules for FS9 / FSX
Description: Modules required for some FS9 / FSX addons. The majority of addons already have these modules. This is a good site to look for those lost modules you thought you would never find again.

Enjoy!

I used to be REALLY into flight simulator. I never got past FS9 though because I just kind of got bored with it. Maybe after flying for real a few times in small planes made the sim kind of dull..

I flew around South Carolina in a Piper Cherokee with my band last year. Got to take the controls a few times, and almost made one of the passengers vomit..

Edit: Yes Rock bands and small planes are never a good mix... But we had a great pilot.

Hi Little Powell.
I used to be REALLY into flight simulator. I never got past FS9 though because I just kind of got bored with it.
I know the feeling, I couldn't see the purpose of even playing the sim, and then I came across Airhauler, and FsPassengers, and now I fly at least twice a week. If you do get back into it, believe me these addons are just incredible. I have been running a cargo company from the small airport next to my home, and fly shipments throughout the eastern coastline. I also have a couple of other pilots that fly out of the way shipments for me. I just can't say enough about this addon, flying the FS9 or FSX is no longer boring.

Haaaaaaa, that is so cool Little Powell. I have never flown in a small airplane except with the Flight Sims. Good thing they didn't vomit. Imagine having to fly with that smell, it's not like you can pull over anywhere :).

LOL

Cheers Little Powell.
