Released - Sandbox Sprite Ratio 10 MOD
Sandbox SR10
This mod will change the sprite ratio from 1:4 to 1:10 in Sandbox. In other words, instead of every four soldier sprites representing one man, every ten soldier sprites will represent one man. This will increase framerates for players with performance problems in Sandbox, and Army level battles are now playable!
This was requested a while back and I didn't realize until today (with some helpful advice from Norb) that this was possible all along. Players wanted the huge army level battles that were possible in TC2M. Enjoy!
To install just unzip into your mods folder and enable in the game.

Please test this out and let me know how it goes.

Re: Released - Sandbox Sprite Ratio 10 MOD
How would this be played in game? Is it a scenerio or is it active all the time once activated in the mods section?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Activate it in the mods section, and it will be active anytime you play a Sandbox game.

Okay, figured it out. Got it working. Good job, LP. 2 questions - 1) What about the map scale? Any changes there? 2) Somewhere I got the idea that TC2M scale was 1 in 7, rather than 1 in 10. Brain damage on my part?

Cool Mod - But I thought that we tried this before, and it didn't work!
But, then again - I don't remember placing a SandBox folder directly into the Mods folder!

Glad you got it working. The map scales won't change so that's going to to be pretty far off on the Gettysburg maps, but still in the ballpark. But for maps like Alpine and Kansas, scale isn't really important on those maps anyway.Okay, figured it out. Got it working. Good job, LP. 2 questions - 1) What about the map scale? I always thought TC2M was 1:10, but I could be wrong. Either way you can change the scale just by simply editing the two scen_Army.ini files in the mod. You will see at the top it says the MenPerSprite is 10, you can make that lower if you want (and maybe even higher).

TC2M is 1:10 Sprite Ratio...no doubts
Yeah, this 1:10 mod works well, I'm working on a SB_OOB for SR1 - 1:1 Sprite Ratio

RB,
Roger that. Wasn't sure. Okay to be wrong.
LP,
NP. Will run it this way and see. Have recently installed CWBR for number one grandson to play. Was going to count the sprites, (LOL), and see that way.
Cool deal.

Re: Released - Sandbox Sprite Ratio 10 MOD
LP,
Some thoughts on the sprite/ratio change -
1) I am spoiled by the larger units in SOW. the smaller ratio dosen't "seem right" to my now jaded eye.
2) Have run three games with the mod activated. It DOES allow for larger numbers of units on the field. (Better frame rate.)
3) the pesky "loss of Command" bug is still there. Was using Hooker's Div from 2nd. Manassas OOB. Game ended, went back in and had lost control of all units. Oh well. Since it doesn't happen all the time, I'm not too annoyed.
Again, good job, LP.
