Sorry to all who were slowed down playing the evening of the 4th, and many thanks to kg soldier for trying to help as I was having some trouble with the game (kg--I had to reboot my computer to get out of the first game, sorry I couldn't make it into the room).
The problem we were trying to fix is this: when I select my Union commander (I'm not sure about my Confederate) in a multiplayer OOB, the game then assigns "me" and all attendant control to Col. T Davidson of the 16th Ohio under Doubleday's overall command. My online name still shows in red under David Brown's name, but I'm not in command of him or his division otherwise. The game also froze for everybody both times.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. I'm really looking forward to playing.

Re: First game questions and apologies
Sam,
Great. Now we're getting this bug in MP also. Brother, worry not. This loss of control over your troops is an odd little bug which has crept into the game recently. The mighty Norb/Team are working on it even as we rest our weary heads from the days battles.
The freezing is generally due to at least one, (or more), players computers at the low end of operation, (like mine), being unable to keep up with the better ones. This is not always the case, but seems to be most of the time. For example, mine will run decently with up to 6 players in MP, even if I am not the host. 8, 9 or 10 players and mine just freezes out. That is why I will always drop out if the game freezes up.
Keep trying and good luck!

Re: First game questions and apologies
Sam's "bug" happened 3 or 4 straight trys. I'd see him as division command, but he was seeing brigade command as his player.
The clocked never started.
We played a successful game with 8 or 9 players after Sam gave up.

Damn, that sucks. Yes, there are variations on that theme. I've had it happen twice in a row in SP.

My apologies for this bug. We are working on it. Only 1 member of our test team has ever seen it, so he's working hard to track down the steps that cause it. We will find some sort of fix in the patch.
