Have the latest patch installed.
Playing brigade vs brigade in Sandbox on normal difficulty.
My brigade is in line, no combat going on. A rebel battery moving on a road about 500 yards away. No other reb troops nearby.
I sent several couriers to a couple of my different regiments to advance 300 yards. Nobody obeyed me. Finally sent a courier to order a regiment to advance 100 yards to the west, which they obeyed.
When I created the message I selected the unit, selected the movement order, didn't change the default time, and hit the signature/send button. Saw the courier ride to the regiment, but they didn't advance. I can understand if they were in some type of combat situation where maybe they were otherwise occupied, but that wasn't the case. Was I doing something wrong or do we need to add a "Relieve from Command button"?

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

But to answer your question, it looks as if you did everything correctly. I wonder if the command associated with that courier order is working? I'll check tonight.
I have often looked for that button myself. After pressing it, a "Drumhead Court Martial" button should appear. Was I doing something wrong or do we need to add a "Relieve from Command button"?

I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

I have noticed the same problem don't forget to add first the line :
"please execute the following order"
and it will work
"please execute the following order"
and it will work

Re: courier messages not being obeyed
Thanks, I didn't do that. I'll give it a try. Seems redundant, though. If you're already choosing an item from the "orders" menu, why should you have to also have to specify "please execute". Can NSD explain?I have noticed the same problem don't forget to add first the line :

It's not supposed to work that way and it didn't when I was working on it. Another bug to fix.

Re: courier messages not being obeyed
You must be using the combat command "advance your unit" rather than the "move your unit forward.." The commands "Advance your unit, Fallback and Retreat" only work when that unit is in combat, firing at someone.
You do not need to use the command "Please execute.." for any command. It was necessary at one time to use it in order to get another commander to send help your way. However, Norb has fixed the "Request support" command in this build.
