MP Problems

Post by WriterJWA »

Alright ... for the past few days I've been having a few issues with multiplayer that I'd like to outline here, and see about getting it resolved. I've been working with "Garnier" via Teamspeak who has been a big help!

Each time I attempt to connect to a game via a room, I get an error that basically tells me I have failed to connect to the server. Here are the details of what's been attempted:

1. Turned off the firewall and antivirus program.
2. Attempt to work through a DMZ
3. Direct connect via IP address

What DID work is by using LogMeIn Hamachi, but only entering a game through a specific IP address. Is there any way I can get into a game without the laborious process of using third-party software and specifically-hosted IP's?

Here are my pertinent system specifications:

iMac 2.6mhz w/4g mem.
Windows XP SP3
Apple Extreme router (my computer is not directly connected to the router, but tied in wirelessly).

If anyone needs any more info... don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks,
WriterJWA

The error specifically is "Connection Attempt Failed to Server".

Try running game as system admin
Are you talking about Win XP, or the router specifically?

I think it was a combination of a couple of things:

1. The latest patch
2. Running it as the administrator (which I don't always do, yet still have success)
3. Turn off all AV's and firewalls.

Otherwise, I'm somewhat confused as to why it started working with some normalcy, but I'm not complaining, either. Hope this helps!
