WISHLIST - Napoleonic Wars
WISHLIST - Napoleonic Wars
If you had to pick one thing that you would like to see in a tactical-level, Napoleonic wargame, what would it be?

ONE thing? That's a tuffy. Not to be flippant, but the primary criterion is that I could play it on my 1 GHz 1 Gb Pentium M laptop with an ATI 300 (128 mb), even with all the settings turned down.
I don't think I'll be able to play histwar, for example. But I'll buy anything developed by norbsoftdev, just on the basis of my satisfaction with MMG.

Yes I can think of one really sound addition.
More than 2 armies.
This is accross the board in the system.
1. Napoleonics Waterloo - Brits / French / Prussians
last count, thats three. (unless you are english, and there is only 1)
2. Civil War - Even Grant had subordinate armies
And of course, the \"grande Divisions.\"
3. And for Multiplayer...
and text wrap is not on this window so my text dissapears to the right.

Re:WISHLIST - Napoleonic Wars
To me the romance of the Napoleonic Wars was the increased doctrine of using cavalry as a decisive force on the battlefield -- however successful or not, not just for scouting or for exploiting a rout.
I think I first became enraptured with this time period after watching Bondarchuk's Waterloo as a kid. Seeing all the horses.. the charge against the squares .. to me that was awesome.
I loved the variability in the units too. Hussars, dragoons, lancers, heavies.

Well I have close to 18,000 Napoleonic miniatures. It is really a spectical to see them diplayed on the field of Battle.
The thing I am concerned with is the effectiveness of the 3 types of infantry. Linear, Columns, mixed. The different years govern the infantry formations used. you just CAN'T click a button for that \"formation\"... It is not JUST infantry....
