This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Very nice work D, it was better that you changed it to the 1024 size, so all machines can enjoy it. Born, get some sleep man. :P

born2see – made the following changes:

1) Removed the word Message from the top of the message – since we know that it is a message. This allowed for the text to appear higher up.

2) Moved the text slightly over to the left and added in a little bit more room – due to the original idea from Reb – was to have the whole message show up.

3) Added your number of ( 540 ) to both lines previous discussed.

4) Filled in the close box with Red to help with visibility of the X.

Test it at your own convenience.

Hopefully – RebBugler can include this in his Mod so that there can be an option of which one to use since it is his mod!

With the Message word removed you can increase the size of the Text Box to 600 and you can now see the whole message. Probably most messages won't have the entire OOB in the signature.

I would still fill in the Close Box background, but that's just me. Sorry to be so picky but I read Norb's description of what it takes to be a tester. ;)

My Bad!

Replace the POPUP_Courier.dds file with this one.

I have a bad habit of knowing where the buttons are, so I make them invisible.

Now - if you can just find ten more things to mod your Rank will be that of a veteran.

P.S. - I couldn't remember exactly which rank!

born2see - I'm off on my next assignment of stealing the Rebs flags, I like this one it reminds me of General Pickett riding up and down the line in the movie Gettysburg.

I had to add several stars to it, but the men on the field don't seem to mind, or know that it isn't authentic!

Question - Have you tried out any of RebBugler's flags?

Melded Davinci's stuff with my stuff, and...

...coming with the next B&F update.

Tried D's mod with B&F...would not work, so instead of stealing the whole idea, just stole parts. ...and made it mine

I would say that it is sort of hard to steal something that was stolen from you!

Looks Good – but the Courier Message text at the top should be removed – since we already know what type of message it is!

This would extend the room for the message considering that that was your original purpose!

This simple problem has been a very good learning experience .

I have not. Now that the Courier Screen is fixed I will.

Off Topic: I was thinking of creating my own 3d map of the GB battlefield and then animating the movement of units throughout the battle. The units would just be colored bars but it would certainly help visualize the battle, particularly when you're reading accounts of it. It's been done before, see http://www.civilwaranimated.com/index.php, But I think I could a more detailed job.

I mention this because I see you are a tireless lobbier for editable maps. Would like to talk to you some time because I have very little experience with graphics in general and maps in particular.

Yes, his flags really do change the whole look of a great game.

Yes, I’ll try to help \ assist you out as much as possible, but that is one of the hidden gems about this forum, there are quite a few helpful gents scattered out across the globe.

Before this game came out, I couldn’t tell you what a sprite was, a dds file, a tga file, an alpha channel, and the list goes on and on!

It was these guys that taught me all of this!
