reduce sound volume?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

reduce sound volume?

Post by Husard »

Hello all.
Since i cant find any "easy" way to reduce the volume of the ingame sound, i would like to ask if it is possible to do so by changing some data/ini/watsnot-thingy.
its annoying me big time that i cant skype with the game running with all those explosions around ;-)
Thanks in advance

I'll request this in a patch.

We don't get many complaints with this. I think most folks, like me, mute their sounds by going to the map and clicking to an area of no fighting. You'll find its quieter and maybe silent in remote areas of the maps.

Hi.

Go here: http://www.norbsoftdev.net/index.php?op ... Itemid=124

Two type of edits there. One nulls out the Cannon, Calavry, and musket sounds, the other edit nulls out the complete sound files in the game.

I understand why he is asking for this. So it makes sense to null the files. I will do this in certain games, especially the music files can be a real immersion killer.

later.

Thanks for your help Mike, but I'm pretty sure the request here is not to eliminate the sounds altogether, but mute or reduce them (TOGGLE) while ingame.

Husard, besides my muting by map placement suggestions, also fly high, this lowers the sounds quite a bit and you can still watch the action. Of course, this won't work with HITS. :(

And please, only one thread per issue...Thanks in Advance. ;)
