Trees - terrain

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Does this mod work with the new patch?

I've installed the unzipped folder TerrainMod in the Mods folder and highlighted it in the Modifications in-game, but the trees are unchanged.

Oh, the link I posted isn't set up as a mod, so it won't work that way I don't think. I just put the files themselves overwriting the default ones.

Yes. You have to replace the files manually. It works fine with 1.2 patch.

I originally made this available for use as a mod with an intro text etc. The files in the link Garnier kindly made is, as he mentioned for overiding the original default ones, which means they will appear in everything.

Very nice to see that this is still of use to the community - thanks for the comments! :)

Hey Jolly,

Went to re-download this as a backup. (Can't find the earlier one). What is the deal with this Windows Live download stuff at the link? Is this something new? Not really interested in signing up for anything.

Jolly,

Never mind. Read thru the balance of the posts and found Garniers link which worked. Again, great job.

Can you assist?

Thank you.

This looks very nice! Can I ask what specifically was done?

Yes it does look very nice. Can I ask a couple of questions too please?

(a) I think I saw above that this is not a mod as such, but instead you just overwrite the basic game terrain files with the 7 new Terrain .dds files. Is that right?

(b) Just checking that if you do this, and host a MP game, it will not cause any compatability problems with other folks who still have the original files?

Thanks in advance

Martin
