Controls2 - Fonts - Courier

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

That is really cool! Was that generated by the game or Photoshop? Either way, can't you use that as a message background graphic?

It is from one of the Civil War Sites that I was on, but then the thunderstorm knocked out the power, before I got the name of the site.

I then used Photoshop to edit \ splice \ modify \ change the letter. I wish that I could do something this realistic.

Problem is – I’m not sure about using certain things off the Internet!

Forgive my blockheadedness by why can't you do that? Save the letter as a dds file and stick it in the mod.

My Bad!.....I didn't understand your earlier question - Yes - it is in the game, saved as POPUP_Courier - This has given me quite a few ideas about adding Graphics into the game.

I still have to clean it up and add the buttons, but I'll do that after work tomorrow.

I also extended it a bit so that the text messages can be longer, reducing the scrolling.

I was just wondering if it is legal to take something off of the internet and use it in a game, but I'm not doing it for profit, so it might be all right!

I'll send you a copy late tomorrow!

I suspect that's a question for Norb and the gang.

That's the best yet. It looks old but it could be from a hot, dusty, sweaty courier as well.

As long as it's not for profit, I think you'll be ok.

OK, Nobody - better not send me one penny!

Here is another one with the text more aligned!

Really do need a slightly darker font - but I might be able to lighten up the image a little.

That looks great. It's amazing how far you and Born2see have advanced with this subject. This new message format really takes the courier message immersion factor to a whole new level. Can't wait to get my hands on the mod. Good work (again). Don't worry, I won't send you any money, but if I run into you in GB I'll buy you lunch.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

D: How come we can't get Lamar Pen to look like that? Notice how I slipped the "we" in there?
Well, we are going to have to figure out \ find a program that allows us to edit a pft file.

Sort of hard considering that it is sort of old, so not that many people are going to be writing programs for it.

Hey, look at this letter I found on the Internet, I can hear the judge now How, can you find something that was reported as lost!

I had to splice it to make it wider, still have to add a thin border around it to even it up, but hopefully I can keep working on this one, and then make another one based off of it.

This is with the LDScript3.

That looks absolutely incredible!
