How about a better scenario editor?

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hi Guys.

First off I am my worst enemy, and two I have been spoiled by other Scenario Editors especially one game in particular.

I was just thinking that how all the scenario's are made by the same small group of people who have been making Scenario's since the "Bull Run" game was released. It's always the same group of people, and it's a shame really. I mean if it was easy to do, we would be flooded with them, but were not.

I have been spoiled by one particular scenario editor which in my opinion is the best editor ever to be created, and that is for Operation Flashpoint. I have created an awful lot of scenario's over the years with this game. I mean whoever has used this editor can create from scratch a nice scenario in minutes because it will write, compile, setup the proper directory structure, I mean everything for you.

[SUGGESTION]...if someone could...

Write a small util which will ask what do you wish to call the scenario, then create the directory structure, the util will create all the basic files, and fill them with some default information so someone can load it, and start from scratch. Once that is done a person like myself (total noob), can look at the scripts, or just start off real quick load the scenario, and off you go. The way it is now is so bloody hard, and it's all about making it easy.

I don't expect miracles here guys, jut something to make it easy because if something isn't made, ten years from now it will be the same people still making the scenario's.

Anyway guys, I'm not trying to hassle you, I'm just my own worst enemy when it comes to these things.

Cheers...
