MP Beta Fix

Post by norb »

If you are willing, please try this out in an MP game and see if it behaves nicer than the previous versions.

UPDATED 8/20

http://www.scourgeofwar.com/Downloads/S ... a1_3XX.exe

My hope is that people will more consistently get in the server from the lobby.

Less hangs/crashes while playing.

Please check it out and let me know if it's better.

Thanks,
Norb

We just started a game but if it crashes will definitely try it. Thanks for putting it out quickly!

Edit: Does this include everything from the normal 1.3 patch so the normal 1.3 is unnecessary?

Yes, this is all inclusive. I was going to do just the exe, but figured that it might mess someone up and you would have to manually copy the files. Figured it be easier to just post it this way.

It would be easier for us if it was just the exe, I could put it in an auto-update and no one would have to do anything. The full patch overwrites some things meaning a lot of people have to reinstall GCM/mods.

Edit: Actually, is it just SOWGB.exe that is changed from normal 1.3? If so I can put it in an update and no one else will have to download this.

I rebuilt all the files. Why do you have to reinstall mods? The installer is not supposed to overwrite any necessary files.

Map mods aren't allowed, so I have to mod the base files, which get overwritten by the patch.

Edit: I just tested an MP game with someone who only got SOWGB.exe and SOWGB.SOW and it appeared to work. We'll see if any problems come from that.

We haven't played any 10+ player battles with this yet; we'll keep you informed. There haven't been any issues in the 5 games since this came out.

OK, I understand now. I don't serve the map files, just the csv files. So I guess you'll have to keep doing that. Thanks.

So 5 games no issues. Is that good or pretty common? Not sure of your game/issue ratio :)

It's mostly the 10+ player games that freeze as far as I know. But there was a 12 player that worked tonight. No issues to report yet.
