Brief "heads-up" re Gettysburg documentary

Hi, yes the first I saw was at the library on dvd- great library in Kissismmee,Fl. called Civil War combat by A&E. It was Shiloh, the Wheatfield, and I think Bloody Lane- fantastic- I hope they do more.

Speaking of russian films, I saw this one a couple of days ago http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476695.
The title it was marketed over here was "the battle of Poltava" which is a bit misleading as the battle itself is maybe 10 minutes of the film, and the low budget is painfully obvious. Still, they made every effort to steer clear of any historical accuracy. I'm no student of the battle but I somehow doubt Peter the great charged headlong into the swedish lines on his horse to bolster morale.

Also there were some goofy anachronisms (is that the word?) on behalf of the props department like a modern deck of cards in a very central scene of the film and the hero looking at a photograph of his sweetheart.. in 1709.

Still, it was an entertaining two-star adventure film and I liked the fact that the swedes spoke swedish, the russians spoke russian and the french spoke french.
