Coming in 2012 – Union and Confederate Sprite Packs

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Yeah it's great to see more of the TC2Mer's over here. I knew it was only a matter of time.. I think the new map mod team has a lot to do with it. It was Norb's idea and I think it will turn out to be one of the best ideas he's had. :)

As promised as in my previous post very much at test stage at the moment - a case of trial and error!

Looking good Zeke. I'm amazed you can edit them by hand. I started off doing it as a modder to unwind and ended up being the sprite guy along with bedbug. You never know where it will take you. I actually prefer doing the 3d stuff and the animation. I was particularly pleased with the horse animation this time - its probably the hardest bit. Once you have used 3d the actually process of sprite production can be a bit of a slog.

re the memory - even if a high end machine there is a limit. Norb has explained it (I think somehere on this forum) but I can't remember what that explanation was (nor did I really understand it  )

Anyway keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Tim

I do love the improved horses in SOW! Actually cavalry is something I do want to look at - as there is already a good selection of infantry sprites available (especially If you have the CD version)and Davinci has a great mod importing the confederate sprites from TC2M. Below is a quick pic of my current modded TC2M Cavalry it now has a more ragtag feel and Im currently working of Virginia Cavalry for a Brandy station project - which will be one of my last biggish mods for TC2M

My thinking is the officer sprites should'nt increase the memory too much!! I do remember Norbs post I read it a while back. I guess with the higher ratio of sprites I think its 1 sprite representing 4 men memory is going to take a hit.
