That's a very classy looking map. Well done! Did corrugated roofs exist back then? I thought I remember reading somewhere that rolled steel only became available in the late 19th century. They might have been made of tin, in which case they wouldn't rust. Just an unimportant trivial detail. Great job.
Although I would normally be very cautious about using Wikipedia as a source, in this instance it seems reasonably safe, and it says that it was invented in Britain in the 1820s, and quickly exported around the world - including the US. So I guess the answer is that corrugated roofs are ok!
Yes, corrugated tin was invented by an Englishman in the 1820's and soared in popularity and production in the 1840's stateside. I did take some liberties in using it. The rust was appropriate because I dont think that tin was galvanized until mutch later in the Industrial Revolution. The wood_barn, wood_house, and foundry objects have tin roofs that shipped with the game. If I am proven wrong, I will remove them. Most of my roofs are split cedar shakes (shingles) any way. I redid probably a dozen objects to a wood plank or wood log format. No long rows of brick houses in 1860's Louisiana.
Thanks for all the comments. When finished, this sould make a nice entire campaign. Just need some scenarios down the road, but I dont write those.
BTW,
Did I mention this is an AWESOME map? :woohoo:

Hmmmmm, I like those trees, that was a very good idea to place shadows on the trees, don't think that I would have ever thought of that!
That sort of brings me to another question, I wonder why the sun doesn't move during a game, considering that this is a better system than the last version of the game.

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Because the game engine does not have the code for it. Norb would have to write code to move the sun and the art team would have to make a variety of sun graphics to cover from dawn to sunset. It simply has not been important enough to the historical battles to take the time to get this level of eye candy in the game.
