Best options for Sandbox?

Post by Romefan »

Hi, I'm loving this game, especially playing sandbox mode online is a blast. :cheer: What's the best way to set your sandbox's options for online play. Say if I was playing line of sight. I'm the host and want to set a good score limit and time limit. Last night I set the time for 1hr 40min and score limit to 200p on a brigade vs brigade setting. What is a good setting for brigades and other options?

1. I'm mostly playing brigade vs brigade online right now, and would like to know the optimal score and time limit.

2. In regular options, I'm trying to set the options to run good on a slow computer. What should I set the draw distance, the ones that are set to 1000 on default?

3. Also while playing campaign I noticed the ai controls a large portion of the army. Like I have a brig. General and I see the ai commanding all the artillery and two brigades lol.

Please help me with these questions, the game is great fun I love playing it online. Thank you

The nice thing about options is that they can be changed at any time.

1. Try starting around 200 and 40 minutes. If you are winning all the time then bump the score up 100 or so.

2. Percent trees has the biggest single influence on performance. Start at 50% on a slower machine and adjust until you start seeing hesitation in the troop movements, then back off. Note that the number of troops in the battle is the single biggest performance hit. If you are playing at the division level you can have higher settings that will work with corps or army.

3 In SB, the unit size in the battle is set by the check buttons on the upper right of the screen. Which unit you command is set in the Select a Commander window on the left site. So if you select Div vs Div and then pick a brigade CO, then you will be commanding that brigade and the AI will handle the rest of the division.
