I've just noticed a difference in logic between the command map and clicking on the battlefield.
As a brigade commander, if I double-click on the battlefield, I move to where I have double-clicked. Unless I click on a formation button, my regiments are not affected. They stay where they are.
If, instead of double-clicking on the battlefield, I choose to click on the command map to move myself, and still don't click on a formation button, the game interpets this as a command for my whole brigade.
I'd like the command map to use the same logic as double-clicking on the battlefield. This would allow me to send my commander off somewhere using the command map, without my subordinates following me.
Any thoughts?
BTW, this works like this (on my game, YMMV) in both SP and MP using custom settings and couriers set to 'Brigade & above'.

Re: Using the Command Map - 'N' key
You have probably found a bug with couriers at that level. The commander should move by himself unless you order a formation, but it looks like with couriers at that level, it always initiates an Amove command (sending the commander and his units).
Re: Using the Command Map - 'N' key
Not a bug as such - the movement map wasn't designed to work with the courier system. Maybe in a later release.
LP is also right on the amove command - if you have any of the courier mods installed they have changed a few of the orders around so in certain cases all troops move without specifying a formation. Try disabling the mod and then try again.

I'd certainly like this to be on a wish list, please. Unless anyone has a preference for the difference in logic. Not a bug as such - the movement map wasn't designed to work with the courier system. Maybe in a later release.
I was playing with the GCM toolbar last night, in both MP and SP. Will try again now, without, and see if the same thing happens.LP is also right on the amove command - if you have any of the courier mods installed they have changed a few of the orders around so in certain cases all troops move without specifying a formation. Edit: just disabled GCM toolbar, thus playing vanilla and got same result. Same happens as a divisional commander. Click on the command map and couriers go to the brigade commanders and then they spawn couriers to regiments, all heading to the place you click on the command map.
