Editing Units Help

Post by Wetworth »

I wanted to edit some troop characteristics, weapons, etc. I looked around the forums and I believe you must edit the files called .csv or OOD with GEditCSV, which I downloaded. I can't seem to find any files that I can edit however, other than the key binds. Will someone point me in the right direction?

How about just changing the weapons a regiment uses? How do I go about that?

It depends on what OOB you want to edit. Is this one you have already downloaded? Or if it's a stock OOB you want to edit, you can get them from the SDK. The SDK also has a great manual that tells you how to edit pretty much every aspect of the game.

So for example, lets say you want to edit the Day 2 Gettysburg Sandbox OOB. You download the SDK, create a mod that looks like My Mod\OOBs\OOB_SB_Gettysburg_Day_2.csv

You edit whatever you want in the OOB_SB_Gettysburg_Day_2.csv, and your changes will show up when the mod is enabled.

Wet,

First of all, relax. You are correct - you will need to edit the .csv files. you can find them in the Data Filessection of the SDK, I believe. You can do everything you want in there. I cannot be more specific since I am at work and the Game is installed on the Home Computer. When I get home I'll write you a path to find them, unless you will have already found them by yourself.

I give you this warning - Make copies of the .csv files and work off them. DO NOT WORK OFF THE ORIGINALS. You can really screw up the game if you do.

Look towards the very top of the Modifications Section that you posted this.

In one of the Sticky Topics .

After you Download and Install - it will be located in your Work folder, in the games directory.
