I have read the book, and I was quite honestly drawn in, and finally be able too read a real life account of what really happened instead of watching the movie.

They are. Hollywood decided not to use maneless lions for the shoots, less dramatic.

I believe it was Theodore Roosevelt who after hearing the story told Patterson that he must make a written record.

Thanks Ny cavalry - but I havent gotten my head around reading a book for pleasure on the computer yet - or a kindle - I prefer trawling through second hand shops

I know what you mean. There are a couple of books on Google that I was going to put on disk and take to a print shop to see what it would cost to be printed in a book form. Of course with modern computers, I could probably do that myself.

I always find ebay is great and as long as its not too scruffy a 2nd hand book has some character, you know?

I just like to read from a book or a source that I can hold in my hands. I think it is easier on the eyes than looking at a monitor for hours.

With the number of books I already have I don't have much room left to store very many more books.

Great thing about google books is that I have found books that cannot be found anymore(are easy to find).


Here is an example of a book I found on google books that I have read parts of and find very interesting.

Another good author in this area is Jim Corbett. He went around India doing similar sorts of hunts and was responsible for ending the reigns of a number of man-eating tigers and leopards.
