Windows 8 Preview Release now ready to be downloaded.

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Already? I think Windows 7 still has plenty of life left in it.. I think it will go down in history as the most stable Microsoft OS released up to this point. I'm thinking Win 8 will probably be a beefed up Win 7 with added features etc. (many of them unnecessary).. Sort of like what XP was to Windows 2000.

I'm thinking that this is the preview before a release sometime in the next two months. YUP, it's that time again.

That is what I am thinking as well (beefed up win7) with many more bells, and whistles. I suspect your right, there will no doubt be things that just don't need to be there. Oh well off to install it.

Beefed up meaning things that Microsoft thinks we can't live without, and in reality things that just eat up valuable resources, and slow us down, and don't need.

I won't know until I give this version a full install. I'm wrestling with what route to take on installation. Should I install it using VMWare/Virtual PC, or full installation.

If anyone else install it (full installation) please post, and let the rest of us know how it went.

Windows 8's big kick is going to be focusing on more mobile usage. IE they've seen the tablet market grow exponentially, they realize the vast majority of people will no longer be buying higher spec desktop and laptop computers in the not to distant future and Windows 8 is Microsoft's attempt to bring traditional windows and mobile platforms together... at least that's the reasoning I have read on a lot of tech sites and also seems like a smart idea if you ask me.
