Was the idea of the Pipe Creek add on based on the book "Gettysburg" by Newt Gingrinch and William R Forstchen?

In the Union (Army) size scenario after retreating for a bloody battle at Gettysburg assembled at Pipe Creek and Longstreet then attacks. In the book the same thing is kinda happening though I haven't finished the book yet? Was the alternate Gettysburg reality in this book involving Pipe Creek the inspiration of the add on? Good book so far and can see if it was the inspiration. Especially having Henry Hunt being a main character in the book...............

For those wondering about the book it is title "Gettysburg" by Newt Gringrinch and William Forstchen, and is telling an alternate "What If" scenario about Lee's last invasion into the North. I am reading it only after reading historian reviews and they say this could have happened.

That's a good book, I read it a few years ago. The Pipe Creek map pack actually was not directly inspired by it. Similar to that book, the Pipe Creek line could very well have happened, and came very close to happening. As stated in the intro PDF that is included in the pack, 5 of the 7 Union Corps were already in position and ready to defend the line. But we all know that the battle ended up taking place at Gettysburg, which is not what Meade wanted.. Although he adapted to the change of plans quite successfully..

When Meade took over and knew Lee was up north he(Meade) thought the Pipe creek area was a good choice of a place to give battle to Lee. He actually sent out a statement to his officers refered to as the "pipe creek circular" stating the strengths of this ground and his desire to fight there if possible. But the armies ran into each other first......
