SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
Re: SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
C,
You need to install the 1.5 patch. That's probably your problem. Try that first but you may have to uninstall and start over.
Let us know. The patch is here:

Re: SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
I did that and now Chancellorsville is gone! So I guess I should uninstall but I cant as I dont see anywhere in the program or folder were I can deactivate my key.
How do I deactivate it?
What sequence should I reinstall everything? Do I just download SOW and then install the 1.5 patch or do I need to Install other patches before installing Antietam and subsequently Chancellorsville? Or do I install some patch before Antietam and then install 1.5 before Chancellorsville.
As the consumer I feel somewhat let down. This is really superb technical support but I never saw the installation of the 1.5 patch as necessary. I got Chancellorsville at Matrix Games. No where does it say that SOW 1.5 is needed. Its also classified as a standalone expansion which would lead the majority of consumers to feel that it would be the latest build of SOW. Now I have to uninstall everything, download and reinstall, lose all my save games and progress, look up all the keys again. Its even possible that my Chancellorsville download is not even available any more from Matrix games which is a whole other more serious problem in and of itself.

While I understand the disappointment and frustration you may feel, there are a lot of capable and caring people supporting this game. I think you will quickly find it was well worth the effort to get the game running properly, and your critique will be taken seriously to improve things going forward. Hang in there!I did that and now Chancellorsville is gone! So I guess I should uninstall but I cant as I dont see anywhere in the program or folder were I can deactivate my key.

Re: SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
From what I see, SOW Chancellorsville can be installed completely stand-alone - in effect, a different product altogether. This might simplify matters. Why not try it?

Re: SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
Apologies, this is new ground for us, as we have never built a stand alone plus an expansion. The CV install from Matrix chooses which install you get. If you didn't have GB already your install would have gone fine, with 1.5. However, the install saw GB on your machine, in the registry, and just installed CV. The install only sees GB, not the version. Obviously the install needs to install 1.5 regardless, but doesn't. This issue will be forwarded to Matrix, here's hoping you will be patient and understanding of the complexity of this issue. Regardless, you will be fixed up, apologies again, for your lost time.I did that and now Chancellorsville is gone! So I guess I should uninstall but I cant as I dont see anywhere in the program or folder were I can deactivate my key.

Re: SOW Chancellorsville Trees?
Let me try to answer some of your questions.
CV is designed be a stand alone game if you don't have GB. The installer makes that determination based on whether GB is installed.
If GB is installed, you need to patch it to 1.5 or your going to have problems installing CV as an addition.
If you install the 1.5 patch you won't need activation ever again. You'll only need your reg code(s). If you don't have them send and email to activate@norbsoftware dot com and they'll send them to you.
You can backup your mods and saved games before you uninstall things and add them back in.
All the downloads are available on the Matrix site if you register and provide your codes.

That's great information. Hard to keep abreast of everything going on 24/7. Documentation of software issues is always a bitch!Let me try to answer some of your questions.

The procedure that works for me is:
Delete the game
Delete the Registry keys, Matrix and NorbSoftDev. Here are instructions:
http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/techni ... -demo-mode
Install the game and map packs
Patch it with this patch: www.matrixgames.com/products/441/downlo ... Gettysburg
Install your mods.
