Odd that SOW, and Addons (Inlcuding Mods) are not listed on MODdb, and Desura. I'm going to rectify that.

Hi.

I was visiting MODDB earlier (due to con20or posting about a cool mod for POC), and I noticed that there is NO listing for Scourge of War Gettysburg.

Now this is an area where SOW can benefit especially since a good majority of gamers out there visit, and track mods via this database..

I hereby submit that we add SOW to it's database, and start listing all the mods in that area...

I can't believe I never seen this, I would have spearheaded the effort.

So who is up for it?

I'm looking for some good images so I can create a MODdb entry for SOW so we can start having MODdb, and Desura be a springboard to have people follow mods made exclusively for SOWgb.

I want to do this right because I screwed up the whole Wiki thing (still pretty ticked off, and ashamed for screwing that up).

If anyone who is really good at taking images, and turning them into works of art (so to speak), please post them in this thread so I can get started on this...

I have a two quick questions for Norb. I'm gathering everything I will need to add SOWgb, and all of the other Addons to the MODdb database, but there are two questions I need an answer too.

Q1: What is the name of the game engine you are using?
Q2: Did you create the game engine from scratch?

1. The current engine was developed from a low cost game engine called PowerRender.

2. No.

When development started with CWBR, it was done using PR. Since then the person who wrote PR has gotten out of the game engine business. NSD purchased a copy of the source code from the original owner and Norb has done significant bug fixing and written in new abilities to the PR engine as needed.

I had tried to add SOWGB to moddb, but it defaulted to showing the game as "Developed By" me because I was posting it, so I gave up.

Yeah I know that is what the info says that you developed it. I think you needed to add the company first then add the game under that company header.

NSD has been approved, just need to figure out a way to get your game added to the NSD header.

Visit http://www.moddb.com/company/norbsoftdev ,and apply, I'll approve you immediately which should allow you to add your SOwgb listing to the company.

I have allowed members to add games to NSD, so this just might work.

Update: @Garnier: I just sent you an Invite to join NSD's Listing. Maybe now you can add SOW.
