Here is a video of the Virtual War Games Room. It does look interesting.
I know about Roll20, and I am a member, but it's not the type I wanted to see, and play. The above video shows what I would like to see, and use, BUT Roll20 can be used for online table top games with rules, and etc just like you would if you, and your friends were playing a scenario on tabletop.
Here is a link to to Roll20. Mind you though you are limited to what they have to offer, but it's not anything like what you see in the above video.
Roll20 Website: http://roll20.net/
Also, here is a video of a small intro video for Roll20.
Some of you may find this of interest (I know I am) .... It's called Virtual Wargames Room.

One thing I think I didn't post that may help those understand why even bother with something like this. It's basic purpose is too allow those who like playing tabletop games when their friends can't spare the time to hop on over to play a game. This software will allow those to play the tabletop battles online, and in real-time relieving those of having to get in their car, or hop over their neighbors hedges to get a game in.
depending on who has created the battle, the full rules of tabletop war-gaming can be setup, and be adhered too.
Anyway, I just thought I would mention this just in case.
