Making Flags invisible...

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

If Nap generals/battery commanders are to kep flags I'd prefer a full-on animated one rather than one of those floating fixed ones. I know an animated one isn't correct either but its less immersion breaking for me than the hovering still ones.

Tank,

That's an easy fix if you don't mind the larger, Infantry-sized flags. No-one has done a smaller one that waves...yet. Just swap out the "GFX_whatever_unit" flag and replace it with whatever nationality non-regimental National color you want, i.e: Union Jack, Tri-Color, etc. I'll rustle up a pic of what I mean here in a bit. Gotta go take one.

Tank,

Forgive my stupidity... For a "animated" General-Officer flag, simply swap out the GFX_whatever_Unit flag for the Local Cavalry flag designation - i.e: GFX_Austria_Cav_1806 or whatever. Here's a pic.

Yes, to me that's a big improvement.

Forgive me if this is not the correct area for this. In TC2M there was a flag graphic being used called Flag_empty...I think. I believe it was borrowed from a Seven Years War mod. Can this be used in SOW? It worked great and got rid of the flag clutter.

Cleaburn and 9th,

Nine posts above this one will explain how to do this. I created this and it does work. Check it out. Let me know. We are always happy to help.

C,

I've gotta think about this for a bit. I know it works for the ACW side. I just have to remember how. Will post back soon.

Apologies - Like an idiot, I must have taken it out. I'll re-do one and have it posted here tomorrow. I do remember there was a difference in the Nap Flags and the Stock SOWGB flags. I'll get it done.
