Game Crashes after the Startup Dialog comes up
Game Crashes after the Startup Dialog comes up
Hi:
Support at Matrix Games said to post here with my problem.
Gettysbury crashes when I press the button/artwork on the start-up dialog. Can't get any further than that. There are no specific messages, just that the game has crashed.
This is the trouble ticket number to see everything we've tried,
Issue ID :13964
Regards,
Jordan

Please don't post your serial key on the forum.
Has the game ever worked for you? Possible that you have a corrupt download. Please try to download again and see if that does it.

Nope, a fresh download didn't work. Crashes at the same spot.

What operating system are you running? Is there anything in your log after the crash? The log is located in your game\Work folder. Its called SOWGB.log. You can just copy/paste the contents here.

Here's the log, looks like there's a missing file.

Thank you. Since that's the very first file it loads, chances are it's missing a lot more than just that screen file. Do you have a way to take screenshots? I'd like to see a screenshot of what your game folder looks like, which files are missing etc. So first I'd like to see you main directory; should be C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg
If that looks intact, then I'd like to see C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Base\Graphics\Screens

Here are the screen shots of the two directories.

Yeah, missing lots of screen files. If that is a view of the top of the folder, there are supposed to be several more graphics files starting with ANIM_ etc...Here are the screen shots of the two directories.
The only thing that would cause that is a corrupt download or install.. Really hate to have you re-download again, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Are you downloading over wi-fi? Have you had internet connection problems in the past?

Yes, using WiFi but never had a problem.
Plus the install starts as one big zip file, so how would it be a download issue unless that got corrupted.

Ok, I didn't know matrix zipped it up.
I'm scratching my head on this one. Every other time something like this has been reported (and it's only been a few times) it was always a corrupt download. Do you have another computer you can try it on (just to rule out an issue with your computer)?
