You were victim of the time bug. In your first courier order. click on the Time & Date tab and select the time at the top of the list. Then write your orders as usual. The unit will respond as you would anticipate. You only have to set the time once in a game, so do it with your very first order.

Note, this bug gets fixed and then reintroduced with every other patch for some reason. The 1.6001 beta patch had this fixed, but it is back in the 1.61 release.

It used to be a rare occurrence, dissappeared for some time once fixed and 1.61 is only out a week or two. How many times have you experienced it?

I see it in in ~33% of my games now, both in SP and MP.
