Re: While you Wait for Waterloo... Here is Imperial Glory [Video Included]
Imperial Glory was released a few years ago wasn't it? I played the demo and thought it was terrible; worse than Total War.
Also, why do these game companies always get flags or uniforms wrong? Or both?

I have no idea why they do that. I've never played the game so I have no idea what the game mechanics are about. Also in the past whenever you, or anyone plays a demo, your not getting the full gambit of options, tweaks, and nuisances of the game itself, you are only getting the shell which pretty much tells you little.Imperial Glory was released a few years ago wasn't it? All I can say is a game doesn't have to be historically correct to be fun to play. I have seen so many people push aside pretty decent games for the sake of realism, and believe it or not, realism is not all that it's cracked up to be.

Having gameplay be more important that exact realism is a given, it applies to every game ever made. I agree with you there.
But there's no excuse to get flags and uniforms wrong at all; all the info you need is at the click of a mouse. It's practical for a couple of people to find reliable illustrations of just about every flag and uniform of the Napoleonic wars in a week. So mistakes there are not an issue of realism, its an issue of sloppy research.
I played the demo, not the alpha or the beta but the demo of the final game. It wasn't patched or developed afterwards. It was awful and quite rightfully sank without trace quickly. One particularly bad bit of gameplay design was that once you committed a unit to a melee you could not pull it out. There was also no morale system at all, so these two elements combined meant that every melee ended with one unit being wiped out and the winners being down to about 10 men. It really was that bad.
Apologies if my comments come across as being harsh about this game but it really is one to steer well clear of.

Well done. No, no, not harsh at all.Having gameplay be more important that exact realism is a given, it applies to every game ever made. I agree with you there.

It's all a matter of preference, for me it could be the game of the century (haaaa), I don't know I have never played it, and truth be told I have no desire to purchase the game.
I get what mean though, for a game of this particular genre you would expect it to be historically correct, and I understand completely your point.
Cheers.

@Saddletank: Man your right, that was one awful game. Had to toss it, not because of the historical inaccuracies but because it was just a crappy game all around.
