Did I Win or Will I Lose?......

Not sure about the theme here, but I hope I can get some advice on ending a game in Sandbox....Perhaps another theme would be is "How good have I played against the AI or "I take this game to serious?"

Here's the scoop... Sandbox, Hunt them down...Lee -vs- Burnside (Fredericksburg OOB) using Antietam Afternoon Map. Troops Engaged Lee @ 83,000, Burnside @ 110,000.

At Max Game Length of 4 Hours, I won at 20,000 Points. I (Lee of course) knew I did not even engage half of Burnside, That was based on Union Loses and not a advance by any new Union Column....so I continued to "Hunt them Down" and then I met the Union Army and it was another battle.

At 18 hours into this game, I now have reached 50,000 points. Lee has 38000 losses, Burnside with 58000 loses. I checked Battle Info. Lee had 27,000 strength, Burnside had 12151 strength. MATH DON'T WORK OUT. And I will tell you that there are more than 12000 Union out there, and they keep coming.

Am I having fun? YES!!!! But did I win or will i lose?

Have I explained myself? My next post will probably be "How do I play a real YANKEE (one on one) and how does all that work?????

That's odd about the Union strength discrepancy.. I've never encountered anything like that, so unfortunately I can't offer any advice. I'd be curious to see what the game DB info says after you end the battle.

As far as did you win or lose, the battle sounds like it is turning out to be like the actual Battle of Fredericksburg.. You have whipped old Burnside, yet he still keeps coming, foolishly pouring troops into your lines while taking heavy losses..

I'll reconfirm the numbers and where I got them, but if I continue the battle, I'll be fighting to the last man....One of my points is that one may think he has really won a sandbox battle, but the odds may have been in his favor from the beginning as only a portion of his opponent is showing up. A sandbox battle may prove little as to how well you are doing. But then again, you are only being measured against the level of the AI you are playing against.

And where I was trying to go with this subject is that I have wished from the beginning for an easy battle scenario generator that users can make up their own battle scenarios and then SHARE with others, we used to do it with Talon Soft and HPS. I know there are probably some of us that just like to kick back and play the game ourselves against the AI.

SANDBOX is getting boring for me, and there are limited "ARMY" scenarios out there. This game needs a new life, the game needs more "3 Days in 7 Hours" type scenarios. Maybe it's time to go to Mutliplayer....

I reconfirmed my numbers and as pointed out in my post, there is an issue with the OOB count on both sides. The Battle Infor (Game End) states about a Union strength of 12000. However, the stating Union OOB strength is 110,000 and with 58000 losses, the Battle infor should read about 52,000. With the rebs, the stating OOB states 83,0000. With 38,0000 losses, the Battle Inform should read 45,000, but the Game Infor bar reads 27,000.
