Fort Wagner map - Released

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Fort Wagner map - Released

Post by Little Powell »

This is a map I made for fun a year or so ago. I have considered posting it before, but there's a major problem with it. There's water everywhere, and only a small strip of land to actually fight on (which is why those clever Rebels built the fort there)... So it's basically unplayable in Sandbox.

However, I can see some interesting scenario possibilities here, especially in MP. Similar to my Secessionville map, the fort has a huge defense bonus and it must be assaulted from the front.

Give 'em Hell, 54!

Note: Very little testing has been done on this map, so please report any issues you run into. There are no roads, so you may get some "path failed" errors in your log.

IMPORTANT: This map requires Chancellorsville to work correctly. The map will still run fine without it, but you will get an error on load and the fort will be missing the tents.

Wow, fantastic. I can see uses for this in Napoleonic MP games, and the Fontenoy mod. Brilliant work. Thanks!

LP, I notice the abbatis at the base of the ditch don't seem to slow attackers down. Is it possible for us to mod the properties of that stake line, or is it purely a decorative graphic?

Well the mote is supposed to slow you down significantly, so I sort of consider the mote and stakes are one in the same since they are so close together.
