You can send an order to your fellow division commanders and your superior requesting help. Go to the Support tab on the courier orders screen. Click on the 'Request support' order. It's the only order that works with the AI on that page. If the division that you are requesting help from is not engaged, he will move to your location and help you. I usually send the request to both my superior and the division I am asking help from.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

The key to actually getting your requested support is to send for help early in the battle, like when you first see the enemy and can envision that you will need support. The AI division commanders will also request the reserves to support them at some point.

In Sandbox, I usually will select the overall commander, set the high level, overall strategy, then select one division commander I want to play as and let the rest of the battle play out on its own. That way there is less absurd movement going on, although with some (AI) people you just never know.

Thank you JeanAllTrekkie. Good in depth review of the game. I thought that we do allow you to keep playing after the end of a scenario. There are also ways to get stats, but nothing that intuitive. Too many features shoved under the covers so that only the ones that ask know how they work. We have many goals in future versions, but one major one is to make the game friendlier to new players. We'll be at Historicon too.
