Artillery retreat

Hi guys,
Great game, but I cannot get my artillery to defend. Whenever enemy infantry gets within 200 yds., they automatically retreat, giving me no chance to try and repel an attack with grapeshot. How do I get those cowards to defend? Thanks

Unsupported artillery will limber up and move to the rear just like in the actual Civil War.


If you want the guns to stand in place give them some infantry support.
