CSPAN Civil War lecture series

Post by garyknowz »

I ran into this huge cache of Civil War lectures by historians a couple weeks ago. It's a goldmine of great information on the latest theories on the whats, why of the war. Probably a few hundred hour+ long expositions.

Cheers!

Sorry. I suffer from a serious case of typosis. Don't worry, it's not contagious :)

Great find, thanks for sharing. History channel, other TV programs have their place. But there's no better source for historical accuracy and the real story than from the hardcore historians and park rangers. :)

Interesting footnote: the professor who spoke on the Sand Creek Massacre, Ari Kelman, was my honors thesis adviser as an undergrad at UC Davis. The wittiest man I've ever met in academia.
