The Future of PC Gaming?

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

The Future of PC Gaming?

This looks to be a very interesting venture and one to keep your eyes on. If it works I think it could kill the PC hardware market, because there would be no need for consumers to upgrade. It will become more viable when America's broadband speeds pick up.

This is brilliant stuff indeed, and I can definitely see this becoming the future of gaming... But I have two issues with it:

1. Modding? This will pretty much eliminate game modding, unless there could be a way to have have remote modding or something..

2. Being limited to only play the games on your TV with a high speed connection. No more playing your favorite games on your laptop on an airplane or somewhere else.. But again, maybe this is an issue that could be addressed somehow.

There's nothing like having a library of game CDs that don't go away like cable providers or access sites to games. The future sounds like the future, but let it get here first.

Sorry guys, but it's not going to work from a technical perspective. Latency alone will kill the playability.

This isn't the first time something like this has come along, and it's snake oil every time.

I will not disagree with you Anthropicus, but they say they have the latency figured out. Whether that is true or not is another story, but America lags behind(no pun intended) in broadband speed throughout developed countries. If we would ever get things together and get real high-speed internet this could be huge moneymaker.

They always do. B)

I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, they've only demonstrated it at a conference, probably with a local connection.
