dds editor

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

dds editor

Post by 7th Wisconsin »

Anyone have any recommendations for a free .dds editor? Want to create or edit dds files. Irfanview can open but not save them. And I simply don't have the cash (or understanding wife) to purchase one of the "big boys"

After spending the better part of 2 hours on a splash screen, saving it and finding that it only saved one layer (the smallest one), I'm thinking of leaving this stuff to the pros. I'm going to play Free Cell now. Or maybe poke a stick in my eye.

Very familiar stuff :)

I do my work in paint and just use the programs to convert it to dds. The dds format is pretty bad for detail anyway. You never want to edit it, just convert to it when you are done.
